I had a ready-to-wear line for a few years when I started out, and because my aesthetic was quite ethereal people would often ask me if I did bridal or if I would create something custom for them. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that some of the challenges I was facing with ready-to-wear could work to my advantage with bridal. With the fast-paced, endless cycle of ready-to-wear, I often felt the need to compromise on things that were important to me like quality, attention to detail, and producing domestically. Bridal felt like a space that embraced a slower, more intentional approach to design and production that I felt more naturally aligned with.
I took the leap and created my first collection, reached out to some boutiques, and started flying around the country with a suitcase of gowns visiting different stores for trunk shows. The response was amazing, and meeting our brides made it easy for me to fall in love with bridal. It’s wonderful to know that our pieces are made for a specific person to be worn on such a meaningful day.
We are a bridal brand based in NYC with everything made to order in the Garment District. The brand is known for its quality, attention to detail and refined, understated elegance. Our brides adore our fabrication, often remarking on how comfortable they feel in our garments. We recently celebrated our 10th anniversary, such a milestone!
We opened our first flagship last year right in the heart of Soho and it has been such an inspiring space for us to meet with and build relationships with so many creative people, like our favorite stylists, photographers, florists, etc. It’s a city full of life and some of the most talented people in the industry.
Thank you so much! One of my favorite things about my job is that I get to create thoughtful pieces that people feel a connection to. I love hearing our brides say that they feel comfortable and like the best version of themselves when wearing AG. With the flagship, I wanted to create a space that invoked a similar feeling of warmth and comfort. For me, it was essential that our space feel more like a home than a retail environment, a space where people can feel supported and connected to themselves and their loved ones.
I have many favorites, but if I have to pick one (or two) I’d say our Isadora Gown. It’s super structured with silk chiffon draping throughout that is so romantic and ethereal. The Teddy Set would be my other current favorite. The skirt is a very Degas-inspired silhouette, made with layers of silk tulle, complete with a coordinating silk shantung bralette that is intricately hand-embroidered by our design team right in our NYC studio.
